Sound familiar?

Where the day-to-day gets stuck.

01

You don't know what a plate really costs.

Ingredient prices change every week, sometimes every day, and the menu price was set months ago. The margin on each dish is a guess until the accountant closes the month.

02

Orders get lost between the floor and the kitchen.

A waiter writes the order on paper, the kitchen reads it wrong or never gets it, and a table waits forty minutes for a dish nobody started.

03

Stock disappears and nobody knows where.

What you bought, what you sold and what is left on the shelf never add up. Waste, staff meals and over-portioning all look the same at the end of the month.

04

Short-dated goods get thrown away.

Older stock sits at the back while new deliveries are used first, and you find the expired cartons during the next count.

05

Supermarkets want their own prices and delivery days.

If you also supply shops, each one has its own price list, delivery schedule and payment terms, kept in a notebook or a salesman's phone.

06

Two currencies at the till.

The menu is priced in dollars, customers pay in lira or both, and the rate changes during the day. Closing the cash drawer becomes a sum someone redoes every night.

On Odoo

What we set up in Odoo.

We start from the standard Odoo apps, configure them to your process and add custom development only where the standard falls short.

Restaurant point of sale

Your floor plan with its tables, orders taken at the table on a tablet, bills split by guest or by item, tips and payment by card or cash in either currency.

Orders to the kitchen

Each order goes straight to the right kitchen or bar printer, or to a kitchen display screen where cooks follow and mark each dish as it's ready.

Self-ordering

Guests scan a QR code at the table to see the menu and order, or order and pay at a kiosk at the counter.

Recipes & food cost

Each dish or product has its recipe as a bill of materials, so every sale or production run takes its ingredients out of stock and shows its real cost.

Lots & expiry dates

Lot numbers and expiry dates from receipt onwards, with the earliest expiry picked first and alerts before stock goes out of date.

Food production

Roasting, baking or packing planned as production orders, with batches traced from raw material to the finished product.

Supplying shops & supermarkets

A price list per customer, orders taken by your sales team or online, and deliveries grouped by vehicle and area.

Purchasing from suppliers

Reorder rules that draft purchase orders from stock levels and supplier prices, so you buy what the kitchen needs and no more.

Accounting in LBP and USD

Every sale, purchase and payment posted as it happens in both currencies, with each branch's results on its own report.

How it works

From the order to the books.

An order at the table and a batch from the kitchen or the factory follow the same path through Odoo.

Tag

One stock count

The till, the kitchen, the store room and the factory work from the same numbers.

Cost per dish

Each sale takes its recipe's ingredients out of stock, so food cost is known every day.

Expiry dates

The batch that expires first leaves first.

Every lot carries its expiry date from the day it arrives or is produced.

Tag

First expiry, first out

Odoo picks the lot that expires first when an order is prepared.

Alerts in time

An alert date warns you before stock goes out of date.

Questions

Questions we hear

If your question is not here, bring it to the call.

Is Odoo good for restaurants?

Yes. Odoo's point of sale has a restaurant mode with floor plans and tables, orders sent to the kitchen, split bills, tips and self-ordering by QR code or kiosk. Because it's part of Odoo, every sale also updates stock, purchasing and the accounts without anyone typing it twice.

Can Odoo deduct ingredients from stock when a dish is sold?

Yes. We set up each dish as a recipe with its ingredients and quantities. When the dish is sold, Odoo takes the ingredients out of stock, so you can compare what you should have with what is on the shelf and see the real food cost.

Does it work for food factories, roasteries and sweet shops?

Yes. Production orders, recipes, batches and expiry dates cover roasting, baking and packing, and the same system handles selling to supermarkets and retailers. For larger plants, see our page on Odoo for manufacturing.

Do we need Odoo Community or Enterprise?

The restaurant point of sale, inventory, manufacturing and purchasing exist in both. Some features you may want, such as the kitchen display screen, quality checks and the full accounting app, are part of Odoo Enterprise. The assessment tells you which edition fits what you need.

Can Odoo run a hotel?

Odoo doesn't include a hotel property management system for rooms and reservations. It covers the rest of a hotel well: restaurants and bars on the point of sale, purchasing, stock, accounting and HR. If you already use a property management system, we can connect it to Odoo as a custom project.

Can it handle prices in dollars and payments in lira?

Yes. The till accepts both currencies, and our own Lebanon localization keeps the books in USD and LBP with exchange differences, VAT and parallel reporting.
