Innovation Lab · Custom software
You've described it a hundred times. Nobody's built it yet.
We build mobile apps, desktop apps, web platforms and hardware integrations to your exact specification. We sign an NDA before you tell us anything, and every line of code we write belongs to you.
Your idea and your code stay yours.
- NDA signed before any briefing
- Source code delivered at every milestone
- Full documentation included
- All credentials handed over
- You may engage any team after delivery
NavyBits retains no rights to your product.
Four kinds of software, each designed for your problem.
Many agencies start from a template they already have and adjust it until it passes for custom. We start from your problem and design the architecture around it.
Mobile apps
Native iOS and Android, React Native or Flutter. We recommend one based on what your users need, such as complex screens, offline use or full access to the device.
Desktop apps
When the browser is not enough: local data, hardware peripherals or performance. Windows, macOS and Linux.
Web platforms
SaaS products, portals, dashboards and multi-tenant tools, designed starting from the data model.
Hardware integration
IoT sensors, embedded systems, industrial controllers and custom peripherals, connected to software so the whole system works as one.
Your idea is protected from the first conversation.
Most founders won't share their boldest idea with an agency. You're right to be cautious.
NDA before day one
We sign a mutual NDA before you tell us anything about your idea. Your concept and your market insight are protected from the start.
Full source delivery
At every milestone you receive the full working codebase, ready for your own team or any other to run and change.
No vendor lock-in
The code, the infrastructure access and the credentials all transfer to you. If you come back to us for the next phase, it should be because the work was good.
From idea to working code, through gates you approve
At each milestone you see the output and approve it before we move on.
Discovery call
We sign the NDA, then talk for 30 minutes, free. We ask the hard questions and tell you what we think.
output: mutual go / no-goAssess
We document the problem, choose the platforms, define the architecture and fix the sprint scope.
output: lab briefBuild
We build in short cycles and show you working software in a demo every week.
output: working softwareHand over & maintain
Full source code, documentation and credentials. We maintain and scale it only if you want us to.
output: your productHow we would turn your idea into software, together.

When the Lab is the wrong choice.
We take on a small number of projects at a time, so we check the fit early.
If none of these describe you
the next step is a 30-minute call to see whether we should build it together.
Book a free 30-minute callYou are looking for "close enough"
If you can adapt your vision to what is readily buildable, there are faster, cheaper options, and you should take them.
You won't sign an NDA before sharing your idea
Mutual confidentiality protects both sides, and we do not start a project without it.
You want us to own the vision
We bring technical depth and hard questions. The idea is yours; we build what you decide to build.
Budget is the primary filter
Software built to your specification and fully owned by you is a real investment, and our rates reflect that.
About custom projects.
The questions founders ask us first.
Do you sign an NDA before we share our idea?
Yes, always. A mutual NDA comes before you tell us anything about the idea.
Who owns the code?
You do. You receive the full source code, documentation and credentials, and you can engage any team after delivery.
How much does a custom project cost?
Every engagement starts with a paid assessment, from $1,000, that produces the lab brief: architecture, platforms and sprint scope. The build is quoted against that scope.
Do we have to build with you after the assessment?
No. The lab brief is yours. Build with us, with your own team, or with AI tools, and we can still review and maintain what gets built.
Can you take over an app another team or AI built?
Yes. We start with an assessment of the existing code: security, best practices, maintainability and production readiness. See AI code assessment.
Which platforms do you build for?
Mobile (iOS and Android), desktop (Windows, macOS, Linux), web platforms, and software connected to hardware such as IoT sensors and industrial controllers.
We'll both know
in 30 minutes.
We sign the NDA, you tell us what you are trying to build, and we tell you what we think of it. Then we both decide.
